Daniel Pinkham - Wedding Cantata
Eric Whitacre - Five Hebrew Love Songs
with chamber ensemble
Featuring the poetry of the Song of Solomon, Wedding Cantata by Daniel Pinkham is a fantastic setting of scriptural love poetry. Set in four movements for strings and horns, it has great power and exquisite beauty. • Contemporary American composer Eric Whitacre composed Five Hebrew Love Songs for his wife, Hila Plitman, who is also the poet. Set for strings and tambourine, it has flashes of folk music, light and delicate text painting, and moments of beautiful harmony. Whitacre set the five songs for strings and tambourine. The Southern Kentucky Choral Society will join the Treble Chorus, University Singers and Chorale for an afternoon of great music in the historic Van Meter Auditorium.
